Neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based pediatric occupational therapy in Montreal, Quebec.
What is Occupational Therapy?
In occupational therapy (OT), "occupations" refer to all of the tasks and activities people do on a daily basis. For children, these activities can include things like self-care, school, play, and leisure. If there is something making it challenging for the child to participate in any of their daily activities, OTs can help make the task more accessible by figuring out the underlying factors that are getting in the way. This can involve modifying the task, adapting the environment, teaching new skills, using adaptive equipment, or implementing strategies to promote focus and regulation.
